With tens of millions of Americans still without access to fixed wireless broadband, many cities are looking for solutions. Fortunately, The Urban League of Central Carolinas (ULCC), a Charlotte non-profit, is receiving financial aid to address this issue.
ULCC Charlotte has been named one of 25 organizations nationwide to receive an AT&T Connected Learning Center (CLC) in 2025. When it opens later this year, the center will provide the community with internet access and digital resources.
The new CLC will receive a contribution of up to $50,000 from AT&T, high-speed internet, Dell computers, and access to digital literacy courses and training. This center, the second in NC, will help visitors complete schoolwork, apply for jobs, manage healthcare, communicate with loved ones, and more. The effort is part of AT&T’s $5B initiative to help bridge the digital divide.
