Certified Nursing Assistant Program
The Nursing Aide 1 Program is a one hundred and twelve (112) hours NC State approved training course which provides the core knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality health care to residents in nursing homes, hospitals, home care, rehabilitation, and assisted-living facilities.
Students will be taught the proper way to care for residents/patients with empathy. This includes:
- Principles of basic personal care (hygiene, grooming, bathing),
- Dressing,
- Feeding,
- Transferring, and
- Assisting with mobility.
Other skills include taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure), monitoring and documenting appropriately to the Registered Nurse.

While we look forward to starting somewhere, providing virtual learning support for a small number of children, we also realize the number will pale in comparison to the nearly 5,000 homeless children in the CMS system that will need daily access to services and assistance. It is for this reason we are counting on our community to help us support the remaining 4,965 students that need and deserve assistance. Your financial support will help us broaden our reach and impact by covering the cost for expenses to include workspace, instruction, meals, school supplies, PPE, cleaning materials and thermometers, and transportation.
