Understanding SNAPSNAP to Life
Raising awareness around SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
SNAP to Life is designed to raise awareness of the Food and Nutrition Services Program. We do this by educating eligible low-income people in the Piedmont, Northeast, and Western regions of North Carolina about SNAP benefits, requirements, and the application process.
Currently serving Iredell, Mecklenburg, Gaston, Lincoln, and Union counties.
The Approach
SNAP to Life leverages relationships with trusted partners to educate the community about SNAP benefits and provide access to application assistance. We do this through:
- Information Sessions: We offer workshops to educate people about SNAP
benefits, eligibility, and the application process. - Personalized Assistance: Our team provides one-on-one support to help
applicants complete and submit their SNAP applications accurately. We offer
ongoing assistance to applicants, helping them navigate any issues and ensuring
they receive their benefits. - Resource Distribution: We supply informational materials to ensure applicants
have all the necessary information and resources. - Outreach Events: We organize pop-up events at community locations to reach
more people and provide on-the-spot application assistance.
