All volunteers must complete and submit the volunteer application below and go through volunteer orientation. When volunteer opportunities become available, you’ll be notified via email. In addition, you are welcome to contact the Volunteer Liaison about specific opportunities that are listed below. We can accommodate many schedules. The times indicated for specific volunteer assignments can be divided into shorter or longer shifts, depending on your schedule.
Volunteer Opportunities
WFD
Establish trusting relationships through one-on-one sessions to enhance job readiness, job search, and retention. Serve as classroom instructional support, assisting the lead instructor to create a positive, engaged classroom. Provide follow-up support to graduates regarding job placement, retention issues, and career development.
Professional Development
Supporting our program participants in the creation of mock interview techniques, cover letter and resume writing for the enhancement of economic mobility for individuals seeking employment opportunities.
Special Events
Provide assistance that varies depending on the event. Assignments include registration, greeters, set-up, break-down, callers, etc. Special events such as, but not limited to our Annual Whitney M. Young Gala, Building Bridges Back to School, and our Heritage Bowl events.
Internship Opportunities
We offer a variety of internship opportunities where college students can gain hands-on experience in supportive roles within the Urban League. Interns will work throughout the ULCC programs, including but not limited to education, professional development, and workforce development, to develop and enhance those skills and contribute to our mission to achieve social and economic equality.
