The Urban League\u2019s board named Hamilton interim CEO after Teddy McDaniel resigned Nov. 30.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"inset inset--major\">\n<div id=\"cxense_in_content_link\">\n<div class=\"position-relative\">\n<div class=\"card text-center\">\n<div class=\"card-body p-0\">\n<p class=\"content__segment combx paywall__content\">\u201cPriority No. 1 is to shut my mouth and listen,\u201d Hamilton told\u00a0<em>CBJ<\/em>. \u201cThere are a lot of moving parts in this organization.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"content__segment combx paywall__content\">Hamilton started her consulting business, The Hamilton Experience, here in June 2011. Since then, she has held full-time jobs with other organizations, including Novant Health and as head of procurement and diversity for Charlotte in 2012, the local organizing arm for the Democratic National Convention.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content__segment combx paywall__content\">Hamilton put a temporary stop to her consulting business when she became the Urban League\u2019s interim CEO.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content__segment combx paywall__content\">Hamilton did not have much experience working directly with the Urban League before replacing McDaniel, but she noted her work in community engagement and minority business development made her aware of the nonprofit\u2019s programs. \u201cI\u2019m excited to be able to bring that expertise, those relationships, and that perspective supporting the Urban League during this time of transition,\u201d Hamilton said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/charlotte\/news\/2022\/12\/30\/urban-league-of-central-carolinas.html\">Read more: Article originally published by Charlotte Business Journal<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The newly appointed interim CEO of the\u00a0Urban League of Central Carolinas (opens in new tab)\u00a0has one immediate mission: listen and learn.
