  • CVS Workforce Track (VJT Required) – This pathway is for individuals pursuing employment with CVS. It includes CVS-specific modules, interviews, and career placement support.

The Blooming Heart School of Health provides a 5-week CNA program that includes classroom instruction, lab practice, and clinical rotations. Morning classes run 9:00 AM–2:30 PM, while evening sessions are 6:00–10:00 PM for the first four weeks and 5:00–10:00 PM in week five, Monday through Friday. Students may not miss more than two days or risk dismissal. Applications are submitted directly to Blooming Heart; if selected for ULCC funding, students must also complete a ULCC program application and a Mecklenburg County consent form. Admission requires a negative TB test, Hepatitis B record or declination, physical exam, proof of high school completion or higher, and Blooming Heart’s application and interview forms. ULCC only funds specific CNA classes announced on its website, and the program prepares students to sit for the North Carolina Nurse Aide I exam. Graduates may find employment in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living, home health, or specialty clinics, with ULCC providing additional career coaching and job placement support. The Electrical | Maintenance Technician program provides hands-on HVAC training to prepare students for entry-level careers in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. Training covers electrical wiring, circuitry, NEC codes, data and cable lines, tool handling, conduit bending, fixture installation, safety practices, and career readiness. The 12-week program is open to Mecklenburg County residents who are at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma or GED, and can pass a background check and drug test. No prior experience is required, though basic math and mechanical aptitude are helpful. Graduates receive a certificate of completion from the Urban League, along with resume support, interview coaching, and job placement assistance through local employer partnerships and apprenticeship opportunities. Financial aid is available through grants, scholarships, and workforce development funding, making the program free for qualified applicants. Graduates also receive ongoing monthly professional development support. To apply, students must complete an online application, attend an information session, selection committee interview, and orientation, and submit required documents, including proof of education, ID, a Mecklenburg County consent form, and a background check form.

Open to job seekers, career changers, and professionals looking to enhance their skills, the program is offered in flexible formats—online, in-person, or hybrid—to fit different schedules. Training covers active listening, handling difficult customers, workplace etiquette, customer service technology tools (like CRM systems), and industry-specific practices. Graduates receive a certificate of completion and gain access to job placement assistance, resume workshops, interview coaching, and employer partnerships.
